Helping Treasure Hunters Find the Right Equipment With Confidence
Detector Warehouse is a specialized e-commerce platform offering metal detectors, pinpointers, coils, digging tools, headphones, carrying gear, replacement parts, and related accessories. The store serves first-time hobbyists, experienced treasure hunters, gold prospectors, outdoor adventurers, and professional users. As an authorized dealer for brands including Garrett, Minelab, Fisher, Nokta, and XP, the business combines a broad product catalogue with specialist guidance, competitive pricing, and customer support.
Turning a Specialist Product Catalogue Into a Guided Buying Experience
Customers must consider their experience level, search environment, target type, operating frequency, waterproofing, detection depth, coil size, and budget. For new users, technical terminology can make similar products appear difficult to compare. Detector Warehouse already offered a broad collection covering beginner, general-purpose, beach, gold prospecting, deep-detection, and professional equipment. The challenge was to organize this depth without overwhelming shoppers.

Creating a Clearer Route From Interest to the Right Detector
The primary goal was to make Detector Warehouse easier to use for customers with very different levels of product knowledge. The new experience needed to help users:

Simplifying a Technically Complex Purchase
Metal detector specifications can include multi-frequency technology, pulse induction, operating modes, target identification, ground balance, coil configuration, waterproof depth, and detection range. These details matter to experienced shoppers but can discourage beginners. The design challenge was to preserve the technical information required for confident decisions while presenting the most important differences in a more scannable order.
Serving Beginners and Professionals Together
A first-time hobbyist may need a complete beginner package and basic educational support. An experienced detectorist may arrive looking for a specific model, replacement coil, waterproof pinpointer, or specialist gold-prospecting system.
Organizing a Large and Diverse Catalogue
Detector Warehouse carries products from multiple major brands and across many use cases, including general-purpose detecting, beach and saltwater hunting, gold prospecting, shallow and deep detection, kids' equipment, parts, and accessories.
Communicating Value Beyond Price
Specialized products may cost from entry-level amounts to several thousand dollars. Customers therefore need more than a discount label. They need confidence in authenticity, suitability, support, shipping, and long-term product value.

Designing Around How People Actually Shop
The product-discovery strategy was structured around four primary entry points.
Shop by Brand
Users familiar with manufacturers can move directly into Garrett, Minelab, Nokta, XP, or Fisher collections.
Shop by Experience
Beginners can start with simpler & more accessible options, while experienced users can explore advanced systems and specialized equipment.
Shop by Offer
Deal-focused shoppers can discover special offers, open-box products, packages, clearance items, and limited-time promotions.

A Visual Identity Built Around Precision and Exploration
The branding direction combines the technical reliability of specialist equipment with the excitement of outdoor discovery. The visual system uses warm orange as an action and discovery color, supported by dark charcoal for strength and product credibility. Neutral cream and gray tones create space around dense catalogue content.

Improving Discovery, Engagement, and Sales
The redesigned platform helped transform a technically complex catalogue into a clearer shopping experience. Customers could discover equipment through brands, use cases, offers, and educational content while receiving more support during product evaluation. According to the supplied project presentation, the project achieved:
32%
Increase in Monthly Sales
7.6x
Return on Investment
78%
