Senior SQA Engineer

Mediusware is a global software development company delivering SaaS platforms, web and mobile applications, AI-powered solutions, automation systems, and scalable digital products for clients across multiple industries.

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who can take end-to-end ownership of software quality — not someone focused only on manual testing or only on automation.

The ideal candidate should be strong across the complete QA lifecycle: requirement analysis, test planning, manual and exploratory testing, API and database testing, automation, performance testing, security fundamentals, CI/CD integration, release validation, production quality, and QA process improvement.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, designers, DevOps engineers, and clients to ensure we consistently ship reliable, secure, and high-quality software.

1. End-to-End Quality Ownership

• Own QA activities from requirement analysis through production release.
• Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, designs, and technical specifications before development begins.
• Identify unclear requirements, missing acceptance criteria, edge cases, dependencies, and potential quality risks early.
• Develop appropriate test strategies based on product complexity, business impact, and technical risk.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, release planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Establish clear quality gates and release-readiness criteria.
• Take ownership of quality rather than treating QA as only a final testing phase.

2. Test Planning & Test Case Design

• Create comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, checklists, and test data.
• Maintain proper traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and releases.
• Apply appropriate testing techniques such as:
• Boundary Value Analysis
• Equivalence Partitioning
• Decision Table Testing
• State Transition Testing
• Risk-Based Testing
• Prioritize testing according to product risk and business criticality.
• Maintain reusable regression suites for complex applications.

3. End-to-End Testing & Quality Assurance

• Perform comprehensive functional, regression, integration, exploratory, system, usability, cross-browser/device, and end-to-end testing across web, mobile, SaaS, and API-based applications.
• Test REST/GraphQL APIs, third-party integrations, and backend workflows using tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or equivalent.
• Validate application data using SQL, including UI/API/database consistency, CRUD operations, transactions, and data integrity.
• Identify edge cases, failure scenarios, and quality risks beyond documented requirements.

4. Automation, Performance & Security

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI, API, and end-to-end automation using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins and continuously improve automation coverage and reliability.
• Conduct load, stress, and performance testing using JMeter, k6, Locust, or similar tools where required.
• Validate fundamental application security areas including authentication, authorization, permissions, session management, input validation, API security, and OWASP-related risks.

5. Defect, Release & Production Quality

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, severity, and business impact.
• Investigate root causes, verify fixes, and ensure appropriate regression coverage.
• Own release validation and QA sign-off, including smoke/sanity testing before and after deployment.
• Support production incidents, hotfix validation, and root cause analysis while helping reduce escaped defects and improve release confidence.

6. Collaboration, Ownership & QA Leadership

• Collaborate with developers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, DevOps, designers, and clients throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Communicate quality risks, blockers, test status, and release readiness clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior/mid-level QA engineers and review test cases, automation code, and testing approaches.
• Establish and continuously improve QA standards, processes, automation strategy, quality gates, and best practices across projects.
• Take ownership of product quality from requirement analysis to production, promoting quality as a shared engineering responsibility.

• 4+ years of professional Software Quality Assurance experience.
• Strong understanding of the complete Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent manual, exploratory, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing skills.
• Strong test case design and test planning capability.
• Hands-on experience with at least one modern UI automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Strong understanding of automation framework architecture and maintainability.
• Strong API testing experience using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Ability to validate APIs beyond happy-path scenarios.
• Good SQL knowledge and database testing experience.
• Experience testing complex web applications and/or SaaS products.
• Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools.
• Understanding of common web/application security risks.
• Experience working with Git and modern development workflows.
• Understanding of CI/CD and automated testing pipelines.
• Strong defect investigation and debugging ability.
• Ability to analyze browser console logs, network requests, API responses, and application logs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are not looking for someone whose responsibility ends at finding bugs.

We expect you to think like a Quality Engineer.

You should be able to ask:

• What can go wrong?
• What important scenario are we missing?
• What happens when the system fails?
• What happens with incorrect or unexpected data?
• Is the API behaving correctly?
• Is the database storing the correct information?
• Could another user access this data?
• Will this feature work under real-world load?
• What should we automate?
• What should remain manually tested?
• Can we safely release this to production?
• How can we prevent this defect from happening again?

A strong Senior QA Engineer at Mediusware should be capable of evaluating a product from requirement to production and helping the whole team build quality into the development process.

• Salary: Tk. 40,000 - 70,000 (Monthly) (Negotiable)
