A customer may settle an invoice through multiple payments. A supplier may deliver goods in stages.
Financial and operational records may therefore change at different times.
A rigid completed or not-completed model would not adequately represent those situations.
But, Mediusware developed connected workflows covering invoices, payments, supplier bills, stock activity, and delivery-related records.
The product work considered partial and outstanding transaction conditions alongside completed activity.
The underlying challenge was preserving understandable relationships between records as different parts of a business transaction progressed.
This was also a product-scope decision. The team needed to support relevant operational context without attempting to recreate every capability of an ERP system.
The product lesson: Financial workflows should represent incomplete business activity without losing the connection between obligations, payments, and related operational records.
